  • Made a high price at the Deauville August sales. The previous yearling was bought for the Maktoum family as well and showed high class form at 2-3yo.
  • Good sire has a variable record with 2yos and just about average overall. As a group they tend to be better for development later in the season. He gets wins at all distances. 
  • Sire has had nine runners in 2005 and two have won average 6f maidens on debut. Another has won over 7.5f STO after a placed 6f debut. 
  • Dam a useful sprint 2yo and quite well related. She has produced two useful 7f+ winners to Grand Lodge's sire (Chief's Crown) as well as high class runner Tahreeb with her latest foal.
  • Major 2yo trainer with the best of resources. He targets maiden wins in the first two runs and the better 2yos step up to high class races. FTO runs are normally competent and the better runners can win & place. 
  • After an excellent start as the main 2yo trainer for Godolphin in 2004 this season has seen a slow start with less runners and less competitive runs. In general the Godolphin operation is not having a particularly strong year.
  • The stable has run twelve 2yos and this has produced just 2 debut wins in total and well below their normal strike rate. 4 of the other debuts have placed but only one of these could be called a 'strong' FTO run.
  • In summary we are all waiting for the stable to get into 'gear' and start rolling out a batch of better types that compete strongly on debut and go onto to better races. Although it is a cliche they really must 'have a better group' than they have show so far. Most of the debuts so far have been at lesser tracks so a fair chance this is one of the better ones.  Profile [70]
