Made solid but not high price for Tattersalls part 1 sales, especially
considering he is a full brother to a 100+ rated horse. Unsurprisingly
the stable that bought that horse for 5k bought this one.
Reviewed at the sales and smallish but with solid build. Not athletic enough
behind. Looked capable of being a competitive minor winner but not useful.
Sire has good record with 2yos and regularly gets examples of precocious
5f winners (take the winner of this race in 2004 as an instance).
Dam has produced a useful 6f 2yo winner who showed better form over 8f
at 3yo+ from the same sire. Other than that she has a moderate record.
Trainer does not target FTO wins although runners are usually competent
on debut and make the first 6 places in appropriate races. The earliest
debuts in the season tend to be the 2yos winners (of varying ability) for
the stable during the season.
In summary the pedigree and sales review to be a minor sprint winner and
aided by his early season debut but lacking scope to develop. Expect a
forward showing but unlikely to be able to place unless it is a weak race.

Post Race |
Medium size with slightly better build. Ready type and lacking strong scope
to grow and develop. In theory ought to be an ok 'medium' sprinter his
movement behind was tight and not fluid and a slight issue. His behaviour
was just about acceptable although he was unsheathed for most of the pre-parade
9/1 volunteer third favourite and the trainer's first 2yo runner of 2005.
A neat and ready type and fit enough on debut. Ran a poor race in the stands'
side group and was never competitive. Slightly poorly behaved before the
race but not enough to explain this poor effort. Estimate [45]

25/1 seventh favourite of 10 at Newbury with a 3lb apprentice. In a mixed
group showed the expected improvement. Used his experience to track the
pacemaker by 2L at halfway. Made an effort and led as the too free front
runner faded 2F out. Led for around a furlong until the two better colts
(both on debut) moved up either side of him at 1F out. Squeezed out as
winner To Sender hung left across him and lost around a length. Wouldn't
have been able to compete with the first two who pulled away but held on
for third in front of the stalled leader and a newcomer who had lost three
lengths at the start. Estimate [64]
Ought to be able to improve a little further here and receives 7lb from
the penalised topweight.. Profile [68 + 7 = 75]
