June 10th: Sandown
7f Maiden |
Owner bred and racing for Godolphin.
High class sire has a very good record with his British raced 2yos which
have included a good proportion of useful+ 2yos. He gets winners from 6f
upwards and from June onwards. His FTO win record is above average.
His previous 2005 runner was a filly for the same owner who finished second
(taken to post early and with a blanket for stalls entry).
Dam won over 5-7f in France. A patchy producer at stud and her only previous
runner made one appearance when placed over 6f at 2yo.
Fifth debut (+ one withdrawn) for major 2yo trainer with the best of resources.
He targets maiden wins in the first two runs and the better 2yos step up
to high class races. FTO runs are normally competent and the better runners
can win & place.
The early debuts have been patchy in 2005 and have not settled into usual
standard yet. 2 of the 4 have been unplaced and inexperienced, one has
been a well beaten second after hanging and the other won a very slow race
after being allowed to get away with setting an uncontested lead.
In summary just a solid pedigree but a good sign given the dam's record
that he runs at all and this early. Trainer's debuts have not settled into
the usual standard yet and interesting to see how this one sees out the
7f. Estimate [68]
