April 9th: Declared for
Newcastle 5f Novice |
Sold for low price at the cheaper Doncaster sales.
Veteran sire has all speed pedigree and although underused has managed
to build a career out of producing competitive sprint 2yos. Most winners
he gets win at 5f only and they can win early in the season.
Dam was tried over a variety of distances and was consistent but a poor
athlete. Her last two foals have not run and the two earlier foals that
did run have been 'airbrushed' from the general records which usually means
they were useless.
Trainer's stable in decline and 2004 his poorest 2yo season. Debut runs
are normally poor and a forward showing is a sure sign of a runner with
natural ability (and probable future winner).
Trainer's early season debuts can be very inexperienced. He has had three
2yo debuts in 2005. One was adrift after the first furlong and the others
have finished well beaten at long prices.
In summary a profile long on negatives and if this one shows up prominently
it must have natural ability. But more likely to be struggling at the back.
