March 29th: Declared for
Warwick 5f Mf (5) |
Retained for a relatively cheap price for the TO1 sales (note that in 2004
Tattersalls dropped the select Houghton yearling sales and TO1 sales became
the sales for the selected better yearlings).
Reviewed at the sales and medium size and ok build in front and lighter
behind. Rated 64 and average chance of being competitive at 2yo at her
level.
Sire has a solid record with 2yos although they tend to be better for development
as a group.
However he does get the occasional runners that can compete over 5f and
has a record of 4 wins from 11 runs 2003-4. This record is slightly misleading
in that 3 of the wins were by one runner (Chateau Istana) and the other
win was by Hunting Lodge who then had a long break and returned to win
over 8f (he won over 5f after being hopelessly outpaced but winning by
default as the tearaways folded).
Dam was of reasonable quality but not precocious in line with her pedigree.
Trainer used to identify his early season 2yos and often run up winning
sequences with them including on debut. Possibly because of lack of quality
that hasn't been the case 2002-4. However the earliest debut runners in
each season have usually been competitive at low level but needing a debut
run to show peak form STO after a short break.
In summary an acceptable pedigree but not obviously one for 5f. Sales price
and review showed a limited physical type and build behind would not suggest
5f her best distance. Likely to need the race to put any edge on her. Looking
at how she performs as an indication of her chances to win STO. Profile

March 29th: Warwick
Post Race |
Slightly compact, slightly narrow and weak in front although at least has
some build to develop. Not fit enough on the day. Received a rating of
64 the same as she had at the sales.
Opened 8/1 and drifted to 12/1 before back to 9/1. Performance was below
expectations but in line with her fitness and profile on the day. Showed
up in leading line to past halfway before fading.
Rating of 64 suggests she is limited and an early minor win is probably
the target for her owner breeder. Estimate [38] |
April 20th: Lingfield AW
5f Maiden Fillies' |
Runs 3 weeks after being not fit enough to really compete on her early
debut. That race has looked moderate with only Ooh Aah Camara competing
well since (at a 60s rating level).
Trainer tends to target STO 'peaks' with the occasional moderate early
runner recently. Likely to show good improvement but from a low base and
with a lowish 'ceiling'. Profile [60]

5f Maiden Fillies' |
Non runner at Lingfield and this is her STO run. Profile [62]

May 21st: Haydock
6f Fillies' Maiden |
7/1 3rd favourite at Warwick in a moderate race. 5lb apprentice riding
and made use of her experience to track the leader and 1L behind at halfway.
Made an effort as the winner pressed on and a minor response to get second
and then a slight fade late. Estimate [57]
The form of her second at Warwick LTO is moderate and steps to 6f. Minor
improvement. Profile [61]
