June 3rd: Haydock
6f Maiden |
Made a high price at the Select session of the Tattersalls Part 1 sales.
Trainer is notable for having owners that can provide him with expensive
2yos.
By second season sire who made a good start with his 2yos in 2004. However,
they were not a precocious group and showed better form for 7f and the
second half of the season. He only had two uncompetitive runners over 5f
and the first win (6f) was not until June 23rd.
He has again had two uncompetitive runners over 5f before this one.
Well related dam a 3yo winner in the US. Her previous foal did not race
at 2yo.
National Hunt stable but has had between one to seven 2yo runners in the
last four seasons. Notably these 2yos have been relatively expensive sales
purchases. In 2003 he had an increase to 7 runners and these included 4
sales buys for more than 50k gns including three costing more than 100k
gns. These were for well known owners such as the late R. Sangster, Team
Havana and W. Farish jnr. In 2004 he only had one 2yo runner which cost
21k gns.
However, he does not target 2yo racing and the most runners will only have
2-3 runs in the season and most will be later season debuts. He has only
had one 2yo win in the last 4 seasons and none in 2002-4.
Debut runs tend to be at longer SPs and usually 12-14lbs below the best
rating for runners with ability.
In summary a good pedigree although better for development in the year.
Trainer's record a negative and unlikely to be a strong debut (if it is
then he is probably useful or better). Profile [50]
