May 12th: Carlisle 5f Maiden	Made lowish price at Tattersalls part 2 sales. Highish price by trainer standards. By First Season Sire that won over 6f in first half of its 2yo season. Sire made good impression at sales and likely to get some early sprint winners. The sire has has made a solid start with two 5f winners in slow races early on. He has a number of moderate types make their debuts since and one of the early debut runners returned to win a maiden at Chester last week. Dam was a poor AW winner in the January of her 3yo season. She has produced one similar winner but also a solid sprint 2yo who managed a 'volunteer' third (3L behind the second) in a slow running of the Cherry Hinton. Trainer has shown the usual traits in 2005 by having his runners fit and ready to compete to their best on debut and then not progressing. 9 of the 14 debuts have been places at a wide variety of SPs (including one 10/1 winner). He runs two in this race and this one has the stable's preferred apprentice. In summary an interesting pedigree at a low level and likely to be competent on debut and the stable preferred. May 25th: Ripon 6f Maiden	25/1 on debut and shorter price of trainer's two runners ridden by a 5lb apprentice. Notably inexperienced and lost 2-3L with a slow start and pick up. Always in last place, more than 6L off the pace ta halfway and lost more ground from there although the jockey was not hard on her. Estimate [0] Steps up to 6f.
