Made a good price at the Tattersalls Part 1 sales.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 58. Small, lengthy for size and just an
average build. A moderate mover.
First season sire cost $1.5M as a yearling and won a Group 3 over 7f at
2yo after an August debut. He made an acceptable impression at the sales.
B2yor reviewed 13 of his yearlings and they were a solid group although
lacking higher quality.
He has had one British winner, from two runners, who made a quiet debut
over 5f and won over 6f 3TO.
Dam related to one Gp3 winner and other minor winners and hurdlers. She
showed poor form over longer distances.
Good trainer has a clear strategy with his 2yos and tries not to waste
a run. He tries to win a race within the first two runs and steps better
runners up to Listed+ races. Very few run beyond 3TO. Debuts tend to be
very competent and to a good level within ability.
In 2002-3 his earliest debuts were competitive for places and better types.
In 2004 he ran few 2yos and two of the first three were poor types (plus
the Group class Soar).
He has run one small filly owned by his family so far in 2005 who was second
on debut and won a small race STO so he's right on the mark.
In summary an earlier debut for the trainer which is usually indicative
of 2yo precociousness and often of solid ability. This clashes with the
sales review which was a negative. However, Mr Fanshawe is a good trainer
and if this one is a shorter SP then ought to show up quite well. Middle
draw in 8. Profile [65]
