May 27th: Brighton
6f Maiden |
Owner bred and probably did not got to the sales.
Minor sire gets occasional sprint 2yo winner but most win over 5f and 6f+
wins are rare.
Dam showed moderate form over 5-8f in three seasons of racing.
First debut of the year for an average 2yo trainer that made his name with
older horses on the AW. Until 2003 his record with getting the 2yos started
in early season was moderate and many earlier debuts were poor. The wins
tended to come from mid season.
In 2004 with a better group of 2yos he got a couple of debut wins with
Listed+ winners although all other debuts were unplaced.
He has had one poor debut in an average Newmarket maiden so far. That runner
was supported in the market but showed inexperience.
In summary likely to be a moderate sprint 2yo at best and not a good sign
he starts at 6f. Trainer's earlier debuts can be notably inexperieinced.
