June 30th: Newbury
6f Maiden Fillies' |
Owner bred by Ahmed Al Maktoum.
Sire has below average record with 2yos after his Hamdam Al Maktoum supported
first season in 2001. Gets odd 5f winner but runners tend to need 6f+ and
be better from mid-season onwards. He has had one minor 5f winner on a
stiff course from 12 runners in 2005.
Dam a middle distance winner in Germany and has a poor stud record with
one minor AW winner from 6 previous foals.
Trainer is notable as a 'Show FTO or nothing' type of trainer. He usually
has his debut runners fit, professional and ready to perform to a high
level within their ability and if they do not place, then they are probably
moderate.
He has had eleven debuts in 2005 with one win and two places. The SP has
not been a good indicator of what is expected with some quite well supported
Maktoum owned 2yos running poorly. Interesting to see how the STO runs
go with the four so far showing no marked improvement. Has he slightly
changed his strategy and had the earlier debuts less ready? Or does he
have a a moderate group?
Trainer runs two in the race with the other owned by Maktoum Al Maktoum.
L. Dettori this and M. Dwyer rides Glenrowan.
In summary not a taking pedigree and interesting that he runs her in the
6f rather than the 7f maiden on the card. Profile [62]
