5f Novice |
Made lowish price at Goffs Ireland sales. Slightly below the trainer's
normal range.
Sire now in his fourth season and made good impression in 2002 with his
first 2yos. After two ok seasons with less runners this season should see
him with more runners in recognition of the good start in 2002. He can
get early 5f types.
Sire has already had a good 5f winner and a good placer.
Dam is quite stoutly bred and showed little form over 8-10f at 3yo. She
has not had a runner with two previous foals.
First 2yo runner of the season for the trainer and at the earliest end
of the period he normally starts 2yos. The earliest runners in 2003-4 have
been three moderate non-winners and later winner who placed at 20/1.
Trainer's debut runs are normally at longer SPs. However, they are normally
competent and to a good level within the 2yos overall ability and therefore
the better types can place and occasionally win in weaker races. He had
a 33/1 winner FTO in 2004 who showed no improvement in form later. Trainer
has not made a debut in a Novice race 2003-4.
In summary a pedigree where the sire will have to provide the 5f and early
season ability. A good sign by the dam's standards that he races this early.
Ought to be competent but unlikely to be a better type. Profile
