May 7th: Beverley
5f Maiden |
Owner bred and the dam and the two previous siblings raced for this trainer.
Third season sire made excellent start in 2003 with 2yos with a lot
of winners and plenty of quality. 2004 was a real step back with
less runners and just 7 average to moderate winners. 2005 likely to be
closer to 2004 than 2003.
Sire ok for 5f but winners tend to be from May onwards and has a poor debut
win record.
The dam was a cheap but who raced for the stable for 6 seasons winning
over 5-6f and rating around 80 at best. She has been disappointing at stud
and produced two useless runners.
Trainer has shown the usual traits in 2005 by having his runners fit and
ready to compete to their best on debut and then not progressing. 9 of
the 12 debuts have been places at a wide variety of SPs (including one
10/1 winner).
He runs three in this race and this one has the stable's preferred 3lb
apprentice and is well drawn in 14.
In summary likely to be the best of the trainer's three runners and on
the trainer's record in 2005 will be prominent in the race. Profile
