6f Maiden |
Owner bred by Ahmed Al-Maktoum who bought the dam (who raced for the same
trainer).
Sire has a stout pedigree and made his name over middle distances as an
older horse. He won over 7f at 2yo. He has a below average record with
2yos and gets rare 6f winners and his record is better for 7f+ from June
onwards.
The dam was placed over 6f on her August debut for this trainer showing
useful form and close to her peak rating. She won an 8f maiden on her first
run as a 3yo and did not improve in two later runs.
Trainer runs two in the race and they are his first 2yo runners of the
year. This is a pretty typical start date. The other runner has the normal
stable jockey while R Hills rides this one.
He is notable as a 'Show FTO or nothing' type of trainer. He usually has
his debut runners fit, professional and ready to perform to a high level
within their ability and if they do not place, then they are probably moderate.
In 2003 & 2004 his first runner of the season was a winner (15/8f &
5/1). His first five debuts in the last two years have produced 2 wins
and 4 places from the ten 2yos. None of the four that were unplaced won
that season.
The owner has two in the race with Yasoodd (M Channon) also on debut. R
Hills rides this one.
In summary a pedigree which is just about ok for 6f with the dam's input
but probably better for 7f. The trainer is likely to have him mostly ready
on debut Profile [78]
