June 10th: Wolverhampton
6f Maiden |
Owner bred by the Cheveley Park Stud.
Sire has a stout pedigree and made his name over middle distances as an
older horse. He won over 7f at 2yo. He has a below average record with
2yos and gets rare 6f winners and his record is better for 7f+ from June
onwards.
He has had three debuts at 6f in 2005 and all have looked to lack the zip
for 6f in different ways. One 'blew up' trying to chase a strong 6f pace
and the other needed all of the stiff Pontefract 6f to get into gear and
kept on late. The most recent for this trainer was backed as favourite
at Hamilton and kept on for 3rd but without having the pace to challenge.
Dam very well related and quite stoutly bred showed moderate form at middle
distances at 3yo.
Trainer with a set strategy has started running his 2yos over the last
week. The first 6 runners have produced 2 wins and three places in moderate
races. In general they have looked mostly ready but not wound up and have
competed well partly because of the weakness of the opposition.
The earliest runners in each season will include most of the winners. He
assesses his 2yos at home before they run and will have a plan with most
of them depending upon the ability they have.
The latest five debuts in the last three days have included three unplaced
that looked less natural 2yos.
He often targets strong early debuts at Wolverhampton and had a filly placed
here yesterday. He runs two and J Mackey rides this one. Profile
