June 4th: Haydock
5f Maiden |
Made a solid price at the Doncaster St Leger sales and above the trainer's
average (she attends most sales sessions and spends a lot of time being
outbid by those with more financial resources).
Reviewed at the sales and 75. Above average size and build, needing to
develop muscle and level up but a good, athletic mover and good attitude.
By good sprint sire who can get early runners but better types tend to
have some size and develop through season.
Sire has had moderate start to 2005 with one AW 5f win from nine runners.
However, the last two debuts have been more promising and in particular
Gilt Linked would have gone close to winning an average maiden but for
a slow break and general inexperience.
Dam has a mixed but an 8f+ pedigree overall.
First runner of the season for trainer and at a normal time. Has an average
record with 2yos debuts tend to be competent but leaving room for 10lb+
improvement overall. Earliest runners tend to include the more competitive
2yos. FTO SP a poor indicator of ability.
Trainer rarely runs 2yos outside of Scotland and this is the southern limit
of the courses she uses.
In summary an interesting runner. Has the sales review to be a 70+ sprint
2yo and likely to be an ok type as the trainer's first runner.
