June 13th: Windsor
5f Maiden |
Made a middling price at the Tattersalls Ireland sales and a good increase
from the foal level.
Sire has good record with 2yos and regularly gets examples of precocious
5-6f winners. He has made a reasonable start to 2005 with three 5f
winners, two in the last week.
Dam placed over 5f at 2yo in Ireland has a very patchy stud record and
has not produced a winner with 8 prvious foals. Her last runner of any
note was in 1995 as a placed 2yo showing poor form.
Trainer does not target FTO wins although runners are usually competent
on debut and make the first 6 places in appropriate races.
The earliest debuts in the season tend to be the 2yos winners (of varying
ability) for the stable during the season. His first three debuts
in 2005 were uncompetitive. The next was a good second and received market
support.
Trainer won the race in 2002 and his father won it in his last season in
2002.
In summary a solid sprint pedigree if the dam's record is ignored with
the sales price a plus in that regard. Estimate [64]
