July 4th: Windsor
6f Maiden |
Retained for a middling price at the Tattersalls October part 2 sales and
below the foal level. Trainer raced the previous foal from the dam who
broke down (fractured pelvis) on his 2yo debut in 2004.
Sire has below average record with 2yos after his Hamdam Al Maktoum supported
first season in 2001. Gets odd 5f winner but runners tend to need 6f+.
Runners tend to be better from mid-season onwards.
Sire had one minor 5f win from 9 runners so far with most poor to moderate
quality.
Dam unraced and reasonably well related to a useful 2yo with this trainer
for Hamdan Al Maktoum.
Trainer is notable as a 'Show FTO or nothing' type of trainer. He usually
has his debut runners fit, professional and ready to perform to a high
level within their ability and if they do not place, then they are probably
moderate.
He has had 15 debuts in 2005 with one win, two places and two 4ths. The
SP has not been a good indicator of what is expected. The winner has won
STO but the STO runs have not shown particular improvement. The record
so far suggests he has run a batch of mostly moderate ones for the Maktoums
to date.
Just an average pedigree and sales price and a pedigree suggesting 6f this
early in the season as a minimum unless she's a little above average ability.
Ok draw in 10 of 16 and if she has ability she ought to make the first
5 in a 'thin' race overall. Profile [57 + 5 = 62]
