May 15th: Ripon
6f Maiden |
Made a good price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
Third season sire made excellent start in 2003 with 2yos with a lot of
winners and plenty of quality. 2004 was a real step back with less
runners and just 7 average to moderate winners. 2005 likely to be closer
to 2004 than 2003.
Sire ok for 6f and winners tend to be from May onwards and has a poor debut
win record.
Dam quite stoutly bred and won at a moderate level on the AW.
NH trainer had his first 2yos in 2004 with the variety of expensive horses
purchased by G. Wylie. He made good use of these. The earliest debuts included
the better runners and two FTO winners.
He had his first debut on 2005 two days ago that put up a strong placed
performance at 4/1.
Trainer runs two here and this may be the first string.
In summary the sire is going to have to add the 6f zip and quality although
a positive in the price given the breeding. Trainer can get FTO wins with
better types but this one looks a little short of that and the sire has
a poor FTO record. Profile [67]
