June 1st: Newcastle
5f Maiden |
Made a lowish price at the Tattersalls Part 2 sales. The trainer rhad success
with the previous runner from the dam.
Reviewed at the sales & rated 70. An average chance of being a 2yo
winner. Above average size and just above average build although lighter
behind. Needed to develop well and come together but a solid chance of
being able to rate just over 70.
Sire has reasonable record with 2yos although signs of it slightly declining
after a very good start. Can produce early 5f winners but as a general
rule they tend to develop and win from May onwards.
He has had three 5f winner so far in 2005.
Dam has produced a good 5f 2yo winner to a non precocious sire (Polish
Precedent).
Trainer had poor season in 2004 and was not comparable to his previous
results and methods. Early runners are likely to be competitive for wins
in the season (along with occasional 'duff' one being got out of the way).
Debut runs are usually competent and better runners can place and win.
He has made a slow start to 2005 with the first three debuts moderate although
the last two have looked better types and finished 4th & 5th (one has
won STO).
In summary could be a 70+ rater but likely to need the debut to develop
from. Profile [64]
