March 31st : Declared
5f Conditions - Brocklesby
at Doncaster |
Average price for DSL sales and at top end of trainer's normal price range.
First season sire made 6f May debut at 2yo and superior 6-7f runner. Made
solid impression at the sales and yearlings sold well.
B2yoR rated 32 of his yearlings and they were a solid group if lacking
real stars.
Old dam has produced 5 winners but four very minor and the best was the
most expensive at the sales. This one a good price and probably helped
by popular sire and minor 5f 2yo winner with her last foal.
Trainer has moderate record with 2yos. Debuts, especially in early season
are normally uncompetitive, development runs and looking to peak on STO.
Trainer has had an unplaced runner in the race in the last two seasons,
neither were winners as 2yos.
Trainer had had one runner so far with a runner that cost more than this
one and that was unplaced in a weak Yarmouth race after being prominent
early.
In summary the pedigree of a 50s rating 2yo although the sales price might
suggest a little better. But with a trainer that does not get runners competitive
on debut. Profile [45]

Post Race |
Typically uncompetitive trainer debut and finished last of 18 at 100/1.
Chased leaders on far side for 2f before a big fade. Estimate [13]

April 5th: Declared for
Folkestone 5f Maiden |
Runs 4 days after a very poor debut at 100/1 in the Brocklesby. Trainer's
other 2yo in 2005 ran STO within 5 days and ran to a lower rating.
No positives in profile. No obvious reason to ecpect any worthwhile improvement.
