5f Maiden |
Retained for lowish price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales. Owned by the
Stud (Wyck Hall) that sponsors this race.
Rated 63 at the sales with about an average chance of being competitive
at a low level at 2yo. He was small with medium build. Quite neat and ok
geometry within what there was of him. A notably weak mover behind.
Sire has below average record with 2yos. He has had a single 5f 2yo winner
in 5 seasons.
He has had five runners over 5f in 2005 and two places at a moderate level
The dam was an expensive sales buy and a useful 6f 2yo winner in Ireland.
She has produced one previous foal that did not race.
The trainer does not strongly target 2yo racing and has a moderate to average
record. Until 2003 debut runs tended to be competent and within 10lbs of
final rating. 2yos would improve on STO and then show little progress and
overall an unpredictable rating series.
In 2004 he seemed to have his runners readier on debut and assisted by
some better types got two FTO wins and a second place. The runners showed
the same variation in ratings after the highest level had been reached.
In summary a 6f+ pedigree and a moderate physical type. On the evidence
of 2004 the trainer will have him ready to compete close to his best on
debut to ensure a respectable run for the owners who sponsor the race.

33/1. Ran for the race sponsors. Drawn next to Envision who spent 25 seconds
panicking and kicking out before being taken out of the stalls. Behaved
very well given the mayhem next door.
Broke ok and settled midfield around 3 lengths off a solid, but not strong,
pace. Outpaced as the race quickened from 2f out and faded in the last
furlong. Ran below expectations and possibly not quite as ready as forecast.
No obvious promise. Estimate [45]

No obvious promise on debut and this would need to be a slow 5f race for
him to be better suited to it. Profile [60 + 2 = 62]
