June 17th: Newmarket
6f Maiden |
Made a middling price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 57. Small and medium build at best. Lengthy
for size, light behind and moderate athleticism behind.
By second season sire that did not have a 2yo runner in the UK in 2004.
Was a high class sprinter/miler including at 2yo. B2yoR reviewed 11 of
his yearlings at sales and most were moderate to average types and they
sold averagely well.
Sire has had four poor 5-6f debuts in 2005.
Unraced dam has produced a moderate 7f 2yo winner with her first foal.
First 2yo runner of the season for trainer.
Trainer restarted in 2004 and took over the "Alan Brazil Racing Club" horses
from trainer C. N. Allen in mid-season.
In 2004 four 2yos made debuts for the stable in late season, two of which
were late season runs at Newmarket for the most expensive pair (46k and
115k gns). Both were long SPs and well beaten on debut. One of these runners
was second at 50/1 on a switch to the all-weather STO and showing much
improved form off only 16 days break.
Two cheaper buys (8k to 25k gns) made debuts for the stable at lesser courses.
The one at the shortest SP (3/1) placed on debut at Catterick. This runner
showed an improvement of about 14lbs on a switch to the all-weather STO
off a 14 day break.
Filly versus colts and apprentice ridden. Trainer showed variable FTO runs
in 2004 but this looks like an ordinary introduction to prepare for a switch
to more suitable company STO. Profile [50]
