  • Made a solid price at the Doncaster St Leger sales and above her sire's average.
  • Sire has good record with 2yos and regularly gets examples of precocious 5f winners. He has made a moderate start to 2005 with 4 poor runs.
  • The dam was quite well bred with an 8f+ pedigree and expensive at the sales. She showed useful placed form on her only 2yo run.
  • Trainer had poor season in 2004 and was not comparable to his previous results and methods. Early runners are likely to be competitive for wins in the season (along with occasional 'duff' one being got out of the way). Debut runs are usually competent and better runners can place and win. 
  • He has made a slow start to 2005 and had only three poor runners so far. One was heavily backed on debut at Redcar and never looked capable of placing.
  • In summary a pedigree with a reasonable mix of speed and quality for this type of race. If she were above average she could well place. However the trainer's 2004 record and his start to 2005 are concerns.  Profile [58]

  • 12/1 7th favourite on debut at Nottingham. Gave trouble at the stalls and refused 3-4 times and mulish and probably hooded. Showed inexperience throughout the race. Within 2L of a solid pace at halfway and became a little unbalanced when tried to quicken late on in the race. Plugged on without being able to quicken for fourth.  Estimate [57]
  • Showed a little promise at Nottingham on debut to suggest she could be competitive in maidens, especially given her pre-race mulishness and inexperience. A step to 6f would seem a reasonable move given how easily she was outpaced on a flat 5f on debut. Interesting that her trainer runs her here given that he does not overtry his 2yos. One to assess for improvement potential but ought to be more mature 2yos in the race.  Profile [68]
