June 8th: Newbury
6f Fillies' Auction |
Made a middling price at the Tattersalls Part 1 sales.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 69 and an average chance of being a 2yo
winner. Average size but with above average build .
Sire has a variable but better than average record with 2yos and they tend
to be better for 6f+ and development through the season.
He has made a good start to 2005 with four M Channon trained 5-6f winners
including two on debut.
Dam has a quite stout pedigree and placed over 12f at 3yo.
Major 2yo trainer does not target strong debuts and FTO wins come along
with the useful 2yos. He has only had a single FTO win and 12 places from
37 debuts to date (partly indicating the lack of some quality 2yos).
The trainer introduced a number of useful 2yos in this period in 2004 but
has not shown that trait so far in 2005 (perhaps he doesn't have them?)
He runs four in the race and this would appear to be the third string behind
two runners with previous placed runs.
In summary a reasonable chance of being a 2yo winner but trainer's debut
runs have made little impact overall. Profile [52 + 2 = 54]
