May 15th: Ripon
6f Maiden |
Made a solid price at the Doncaster St Leger sales and an advance on those
paid for the previous foals.
By second season sire who made solid start in 2005 with good number of
winners and half the wins over 5f, including early season. Also had a solid
record for 6f wins.
US bred dam has a good pedigree but was a poor runner in Britain and has
produced two moderate runners.
Stable does not target strong debuts with 2yos and only one debut runner
placed in 2004. Gets the odd debut winner with useful+ 2yos.
Rare northern debut runner for the stable. His only debut at Ripon in 2002-4
was in August of the season and backed before one of his rare FTO wins.
In summary has prospects to be at least an average sprint 2yo although
would have to be useful+ to win on debut this early for the trainer. Profile

June 3rd: Goodwood
6f Maiden |
33/1 on debut at Ripon and raced on the stands' side in a big field that
split. Always behind in that group. Estimate [30]
Trainer tends to run his better 2yos at Goodwood and they often progress
with racing. Profile [59]

June 14th: York
6f Group 2 |
25/1 at Goodwood in a slightly above average maiden and a surprise performance
with a 3lb apprentice riding. Moved to lead after two furlongs at an average
pace and led by a length at halfway. Pressed on and drew 3L clear entering
the final furlong and lloked the likely winner. Well bred K. Abdulla owned
newcomer managed to croos the gap to him as he slightly faded late and
picked him up a little comfortably in the end with the pair clear. Looked
a bigger athletice type with some natural 6f pace. Estimate [74]
Trainer has had one runner in the race int he last 5 years with the maiden
Dark Sorcerer who had placed in the Woodcote. He ran unplaced and did not
win at 2yo. Has scope to improve further but a shortish break from abig
effort at Goodwood. Estimate [87]
