April 11th: Declared
Lingfield 5f Maiden |
By a respectable but now little used sire whose record has deteriorated
as the quality of mares he receives has declined. Capable of getting winners
at 5f, including early season, with the right trainer (Kelsey Rose in 2001
being the last example).
Dam has mixed pedigree and showed her best form rating in the 60s as a
sprint 2yo.
Small trainer has an acceptable record with 2yos. He is most notable for
having his runners very ready on debut and they can place and win at long
SPs. In 2003 he had a 100/1 debut winner and in 2004 he had runners placed
on debut at 33/1 and 50/1. However these strong debuts tend to be later
in the season and his earlier debuts tend to be identified moderate types.
In summary a pedigree which could produce a minor winner and the trainer
should have him competent on debut. However the early season debut suggests
a moderate type who may need lower level races. Profile [46]
