June 18th: Warwick
5f Auction |
Made a solid price at the Doncaster St Leger sales but not notable by sire's
standards.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 57. Small but with above average build.
In proportion and deep through the body. Lacked athleticism and probablky
a little trund;er.
Third season sire has made a very good start to his career with 2yos in
2003-4. Has a good winner to runner percentage and good quality.
Sire gets wins at all distances and an ok record at 5f.
He had his first winner of the season in early June with a debut runner
in a very muddling and draw affected 5f race.
Dam has mixed pedigree with a sprint 2yo sire and a stouter, and higher
quality dam side.
Trainer does not target FTO wins although runners are usually competent
on debut and those with ability make the first 6 places in appropriate
races.
The earliest debuts in the season tend to be the 2yos winners (of varying
ability) for the stable during the season.
His first three debuts in 2005 were uncompetitive. Then there was
a good second in a similar quality race and received market support. The
latest two have been poor debuts.
In summary probably a limited physical type and an educational debut.
