May 18th: Goodwood
5f Listed |
By major US based sire who has a variable but overall just average record
with his British 2yos runners. Gets occasional 5f wins but runners better
for 6f+.
Dam very well related but was unplaced in her only three runs. Her previous
two foals have not run including a full brother.
The trainer has run three sons of Storm Cat in the 5f races at Royal Ascot
in 2003-4. Old Deuteronomy & Cougar Cat have both finished 4th in the
Group 3 Norfolk Stakes and Dark Cheetah was 7th in the Windsor Castle in
2004.
Won a minor maiden over 5f on debut and then was 6/4f for a valuable Curragh
EBF race on heavy ground. Always fourth in that race and no impression
late on. The race was run in a notably slow time and won by BA Foxtrot
(received 7lb) who was entered in this race but Puskas runs instead.
In summary a difficult runner to place but likely to be another in the
mould of the useful, but not superior, 5f types that the trainer has run
at Royal Ascot. Profile [88]
