6f Maiden |
Made a high price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
Reviewed at the sales and given a good rating of 82 and with a high chance
of being a 2yo winner. Very well muscled and notably strong behind, neat
and with ok length to use his strength. He needed to strengthen in front
but ought to be a useful 2yo.
Sire has a very good record with 2yos and ok for producing 6f and precocious
runners. Two of his previous three runners in 2005 have already won, one
on debut and the other STO.
Dam is well bred but was a moderate runner and has been sold on by the
Maktoum family.
NH trainer had his first 2yos in 2004 with the variety of expensive horses
purchased by G. Wylie. He made good use of these. The earliest debuts were
the better runners and included two FTO winners. His first runner of the
2004 season won at this course rating highly.
In summary a lot of good positives and very likely to be a good 2yo winner
and probably competitive here. Profile [76]

June 1st: Newcastle
5f Maiden |
Backed in the morning but drifted to 4/1 at Hamilton. Put up a very strong
debut against a good Channon runner with a previous run. Travelled well
throughout and settled fourth early and moved up to 3rd a length off the
lead at halfway. Went clear with Guest Connections in the last 2f and duelled
with him to the line. Just 'hands and heels' and went down by a head to
a harder ridden rival. The pair drew 5L clear. Estimate [80]
Drops down to 5f after appearing to have no trouble staying 6f on debut.
Better types showed 10lb+ improvement from debut for the trainer in 2004.

5f Group 3 |
7/4 into 6/4 as second favourite at Newcastle. Led on the far side and
a length clear at halfway. Clear from 1f out as Desert Realm faded having
tried to chase him. Quite impressive in keeing on strongly and carrying
himself notably well in the suspesion phase. Estimate [81]
Entered for the 6f Coventry and the trainer's 66/1 Pacific Pride ran and
finished second. Has won on a stiff 5f track and therefore a question mark
over whether he will be fast enough for a 5f 'blitz' on this flat 5f. There
has been rain though and patchy ground the dat before and rain forecast
for the day
Not hard pressed at Newcastle and can improve by the usual trainer amount.
