Note the following overall numbers
when reviewing these lists :-
-
307 = Trainers
that declared a 2yo runner in 2010 (down from 322) of which 145 (47%) had
at least one win.
-
1,083
= Number of Races (3 resulted in Dead-heats, so a total of 1086 wins).
-
11,440 = Number of Declared Runners
= (10.6 horses declared per race on average).
-
10,468 = Number of Actual runners after
Non Runners & Withdrawals = (9.7 runners per race).
-
2,983 = Number of individual 2yos that
were declared to run (56 missed all their engagements as NR or WD).
-
805
= Number of 2yos that won at least one race.
-
27.0%
= Percentage of the 2yo population that won a race (Compare to trainer
Winners to Runners %).
-
9.8% = A good working figure for the
win percentage (Strike Rate) an 'Average' trainer should be able to achieve.
-
3.5 = The number of runs the 'Average'
2yo makes in a season.
-
In all cases on this website Winner
means a horse that has won a race (a non Maiden). Win means success
in an individual race. The general use of 'Winner' to mean any success
is too vague.
