Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
March 21st :-
  • Runs in Lingfield AW on March 23rd, the second race of season. Not entered for the earlier conditions race at the course where the trainer had three entries and two runners.
  • Trainer made very quick start to 2005 including two debuts wins at Lingfield by early April. This record led to his two runners in the first race of the season starting as 6/4f and 5/1 second favourite. Neither stood out in terms of fitness before that race and favourite - Carlitos Spirit - showed notable inexperience. It is probably the case that his runners will be less well primed before their debuts this year and he may revert to his normal early season results of getting debut wins only with his best 2yo(s).
  • Sire gets early early 5f winners although he has a just below average record with 2yos. Majority of winners limited to moderate to average quality.
  • Dam a relatively cheap sales buy ran only one showing poor form. She was one of 12 sibling who produced only 3 winners between them. At stud she has not produced a winner and only one reasonably regular runner.
  • Sales picture is difficult to read, he's probably quite small although looks solidly built. Compact and a little upright with a slightly weak neck. Needs to strngthen in front. Needs to be a sprinter and lacking range to movement but a positive in his power behind.
  • Aptil 15th :-
  • Relatively long SP on debut (9/1 from opening 7/1) at a time when trainer's runners were getting some support even though the overall results were moderate. Never got into the race at Lingfield and race well wide of the rail which was a disadvantage. Made a little progress in the staright but past some very limited athletes.
  • Trainer has had his first STO runners this week with moderate results although both runners had some excuse (one hindered by getting into a pace duel and the other's saddled slipped).  Trainer has run better types at course in last two seasons but possible he has a less able group in 2006.
