April 19th:-
  • Declared for 5f maiden fillies' at Newmarket. Trainer runs two with Frisky Talk ridden by son Richard and this one ridden by stable retained son Michael.
  • His earliest season runners are almost always competitive 2yos and capable of a maiden win at least. They usually win STO and the better ones can win FTO. However, he does not tune his 2yos for debut and they can show inexperience and lack some fitness (which is why only the best (or most naturally mentally mature) tend to win FTO because they are so good they can overcome this). 
  • His first runner in 2006 - Dimboola - appeared to make a very good debut at Leicester but lost ground at the start and got tired in the last half furlong and finished second. Eager Lover also got behind in a race with a strong pace and plugged on for fourth as the pacemeakers faded. 
  • Good sire gets only occasional 5f winners and rare winners before May (and a better record from June). Dam by sire that can get sprint 2yos and placed as a 3yo.
