Profile Ratings for the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket below. Other rating to be added time permitting. Remember that the Profile ratings are a raw estimation of the performance the horse can put up today but does not take into account items such as the draw & ground. From the B2yoR view the main use is as a baseline for the on-course Paddock Reviewer to identify horses who are are misplaced by their rating, horses in poor condition on the day, horses improving and so forth. There are pictures of 11 of the fillies in the Group race for example but Rainbow View comes out top on profile but has not been reviewed at the course yet. The Reviewer's most important task on the day is to compare her to Ahla Wasahl, Rosabee & Beat Seven to see whether than pinnacle position is correct.
Comparing horses on the day in terms of physical type, wellbeing & attitude is crucial... [The B2yoR 'extreme' view would be that anyone who bets without some insight into this information isn't doing much better more than educated guesswork]

Interesting to see Henry Cecil have a debut winner with Wingwalker at Newmarket yesterday to revive memories of the days when FTO winners were commonplace for him. He has stepped back with debut performances in recent years and takes a more development-with-racing approach. He has had a single debut winner in each of the last three seasons and they have all been high class horses for Khalid Abdulla.
In 2005 it was Star Cluster who won a Newmarket 7f maiden on July 15th. 2006 and it took until his last debut of the year when Phoenix Tower won at Wolverhampton on October 30th at 5/1. That year he had good placed debuts for Mr Abdulla in mid July with Passage Of Time & Many Volumes. Last year the winner was Twice Over on October 4th and the best he could muster to run for the owner in later July & early Sugust were Winter Bloom (2nd at Folkestone FTO) & Rattan (2nd at Sandwon and on two later runs).
Which means that Wingwalker was from 'Central Casting' and came with all the right paperwork and hype to be a better debut and delivered pretty well. The Hannnon horse in third - Midnight Cruiser - took a long time to get going but finished very well and if that race is really the better class that the 'Cecil Debut Winner for the season' would suggest then he really ought to be a good favourite next time.
With that background Mr Cecil sets a poser for you by running Bouvardia in the Newmarket fillies' maiden for Mr Abdulla. She's a half sister to Camacho who was a debut winner for Mr Cecil (& Abdulla) in 2004 when he had as many as two in the season. Camacho won at Newmarket on July 17th to point in the fact that there's a pattern showing up here in the tactics with the good 2yos. Might she be another good one? The 'Market' really ought to be some help on this occasion given that Wingwalker was 'expected'.
