SUMMARY

2Quick ground and a strong tailwind helped to produce quicker time than 6f fillies' Maiden her last week. Bell's Ocean 5th in that race after a solid debut. Looked to be beaten by better fillies that day. Trainer said after this race he thought a set of good fillies had got together & raced hard that day. Probably a bit more subtle than that in pace terms but the 1st four home that day likely plain better than Bell's Ocean.
To make the point about variability of quality in Maidens the winner found soft race here with 4 fillies who were some mix of less good & less competent than she was. Once Bell's Ocean was allowed an easy lead on the rail with the tailwind (the frontrunner won the 1st 5 races on the day) she would be difficult to pass.
Gulf Punch look small & limited FTO & 2nd string here. Given pressing ride & outpaced notably. Looks poor to moderate. Tarita the Hannon 1st string but would need to be around Listed class to win FTO. Some progress as 2F out effort started but soon stalled & hung right before final furlong & got the Hughes' ease afterwards. Might be Ok lower OR70s.
Fasilight held up & wide of rail. Progress 4th to 2nd as efforts started before stalling in the uphill last half furlong. Jockey reported she had been unsuited by GF going LTO but same here. Just middling promise in low quality race.
I'mneverwrong Ok size & build but a bit 'boaty' & not neatly put together. Outpaced as efforts started & took time to respond but plug on for Quiet Ride. Check NTO. 7f+?
