2Strong crosswind from left and fast going. Solid pace and time for this grade but winner clear & look better class than others. Interesting pace set up with above average pace to halfway & the race starting there rather than the normal 2f out point. This extended later race effort off a usable pace took time to sort the abilities out and mixed up prominent runners in closers in a large pack at finish. 1st 2 home always in 1st 2 & Avonrose pull clear. Ok promise from Gwynedd. Those in 3rd-6th at Hf & fading back need an excuse not to conclude that is a fair reflection of their ability. Avonrose faded badly in a fast 5f race on course FTO into a headwind. Better here for slower pace over 6f. FIFOut 4 lengths off lead to Hf when efforts started & unable to make ground against leaders until some late race plugging on. Had stumbled just before pace increased so check for excuse. True Loves Kiss made most places later in race & still going forward at finish & looked ok promise at low level. Hanging badly left in last 1F & disqualified for that. Other than FIFO two others made 4 places in later race with Dance For Julie a solid debut by trainer standards & a filly he had been positive about in stable interview. Wood Fair got 5L behind in 12th after a slow start. Some late place gains but losing ground on best of leaders & closers. Avonrose look OR70s or better & best of others leak into low OR70s? |
