2Solid time & look above average form although off an average pace. Flying Statesman set pace with others held & Island Express sweating and never going forward. Whole field within 3L at Halfway & FS press on soon after. FS never threatened & plug on well. If rating level correct then a very good debut by Layali Al Andalus. Held early & settle 2nd around a length off leader. Outpaced for 1-2L as FS made effort after halfway. Trainer's FTOs often lack this effort & perhaps because of the way the trainer gallops the juveniles. Lacked initial pace but responsing to line and closing on winner late on. Pedigree says 7f as minimum & development 3yo. Check NTO but may be OR90+. Fantastic Prince medium sized with ok build & better for development. Smaller than 1st 2. Had advantage of soft lead at Newmarket LTO & that form suspect because of that. But sets believable OR70-75 marker & other pair going away from him at finish. Paradise Spectre long odds even by stable standards & dropped immediately by FS effort & fade tamely. Field race far side off rail. |
