2Field race stands' side off rail on outside 5f track. Strong pace & the filly with most ability finished third. Marco Botti's only FTO winner in 2009 after none in 2008 punted from 25/1 & ran in Irish Gp3 STO. Lady Royal Oak look very fit & bigger & more powerful then 'form' fillies. Supported at 12/1. Took off with jockey at strong pace & he could not hold her. Add in some sloppy starts from others & only the 3 fillies with placed form within 12L of her at halfway. Velvet Band & RCCrunch around 5L back & WDaffodil another 4L adrift. LRO lasted quite well given pace she set & faded into the final furlong & caught late. Must be OR80+ if she can settle. Velvet Band not much bigger than RCC & managed to see her off but stlling herself in last 1F despite making ground on LRO. Pass that filly late on but headed by White Daffodil. Jockey on WD seemed to make decision early not to try to close up to VB & RCC & sit 4th. If he did that rather than just being unable to go pace then a very good move. One smaller limited filly who managed to plug on into a win late as leaders folded back to her without producing any worthwhile effort. Low OR70s at best & not proven 5f on this. The strong pace meant that the fillies 12L to 20L back at halfway were closing up in a pack to the front 4 late on as well. For e.g., Val C around 16L off leader at halfway (7-8L off WD) & beaten just over 7L by WD. Showing that WD probably on leading edge of 'usable' pace fillies & 'perfect' trip. |
