2Below Zero left with little opposition with Spanish Acclaim taking actions to dump his jockey early on. Crossed to rail comfortably & set a usable pace. Pull clear from 2f out. Medium sized & strong to add to professionalism. Probably not Listed+ winner on size but worth a try at Listed level. Spanish Acclaim's trainer said before he ran that he was 'Tricky' & might geld him. STO he tried to roll on his jockey To Post but ran ok once caught. He went a few yards here then jinked left & dropped the jockey. With another horse you might be looking for what startled them. This just looked like a bastard working on his repertoire. Would not expect to see him again until a break for him to have an operation. Six Diamonds an ok Size filly & not unusual for early debuts for the stable to be dreadful followed by a much better STO run. Always something to look for with ok physical types & long SPs no problem as the Market has no handle on their ability. Low level form though. Going French quick run after hard race at Southwell & fade again. Huygens of interest for future. Ok size & expensive one for reliable trainer. Stable used to over-prepare FTO runners. But had STO winner over 6f in May with a horse who had uncompetitive 5f FTO run. Trainer said then he always thought that one needed 6f+. Perhaps he is changing his approach? Huygens too green here & run wide through race from outside. Look more of a 7f+ type here. One to track. |
