2Rain on day but still GF for this race. Solid time for race with winner pulling clear. Two groups initially with VDL & Font in centre & Quaestor & MBell on rail from highest draws. Q. press on & other pair come across to race 2-3 wide. These four 1st first at Halfway. Q. a quiet debut from wide draw & trainer seems to tell Jks to wait for STO on some FTOs. Pressing run on rail & set too strong pace for himself. Fade before last 1f. MBell prof. Cecil FTO. Neck off leader at Hf & travel well. Led 2f out but seemed to stall soon after. Jk prob felt this & not hard & go home balanced. Taller but prob narrow bodied. Much improvement? VDL very green & unbalanced at times FTO but bigger than MBell. Still a bit green here & need organising to make effort. Responding takingly well. Pulling clear & looking OR85+ & can still improve nous. Font. medium & a bit light framed. This probably a fair reflection of what he can do. Draws 7-9 bang together & all lose 3-5L & out of race with ok pace. CB fav. after good FTO but that race prob over-rated. Excuse of start but never going forward well in race anyway. Looked hesitant from start. Newcomer Hoof It, from ready FTO trainer, lost more ground & in front of him before Hf & finished the race off almost as well. CB smaller than VDL. Better than this but needs more positive attitude. Hoof It solid trainer debut & Peak NTO. Pat Seamur held up notably at start & never put in race. Quiet progress late. Check NTO. |
