2Rain in previous 24 hours. Average pace. Stands on far side in chute & field spread across much of track in main straight after intersection. Difficult race to weigh up with Toga Tiger & Danzoe both running badly & Refuse To Wait improving to the sort of rating level she should have run to STO. Possible theories might go like this. 1st 3 home might be best horses but pulled too far clear of TT & Danzoe. They were drawn 7-9 & pulled clear on same strip on the Centre to Stands' side after Hf. The winners of the two later races on the straight course ran up the same part & jockeys shunned the Centre to Far Side strip in those events. Danzoe & TT raced on the far side strip & fading very early & probably on worse going. Worth noting both were on easier surface for first time but runs too tame for that to be sole reason for failures. SSebastian did best of those on Far Side but went right over to the far rail. RTW look not to stay 6f LTO so why improve here on stifer track? Going at HYDK LTO was Heavy & presume she did not handle that & showed real form here on better surface. Seem to stay on well & make soild effort to get 3L clear before idling. Bradford in 6th at Hf but only 1L back & had to be whipped to concentrate early. Lost ground to RTW as she made her effort but plug on well enough & not fading at finish. Trainer has been positive about Opus Dei & ran well FTO. 8th at Hf at 2L. Similar effort to Bradford later. Ok promise. |
