SUMMARY
2Ailsa Carmel appeared to set a solid pace after a modest start up to the race. Increased the pace soon after halfway to help with, what looks, a solid time for conditions. Only Curtains able to close on her in later race. Both had demonstrated OR65-73 form & result between them makes sense.
Jockey again make effort to hold Cutains up early & drop him behind others. But, pull out bfore halfway & seemed settled. Quick, short strider suited to GF on action. Finished race off solidly again & seems reliable if lacking development on size.
Ailsa Carmel ran better on what was easier going than her last run. Still not look as strong a finisher as her first run on softer going. Can she improve for that?
Ginger Grey run better here than on rain softened gound last time. Unable to make ground though and seems to set his ability level.
PTFO taller & narrower type than the average here & not look balanced on left turn or hill. Lost ground & not respond. Still a bit fizzy in temperament. Suspect GDWD 2nd LTO was poor form although ran better there on straight course. But, trainer has not had a 2yo winner in years of trying & the sort of inconsistent form PYFO is showing with hints of promise is typical. But it has never been converted to a win.
Florio Vincitore is a problem for the form vs profile. £2k 1yo with an 8f+ pedigree for a non-FTO trainer. Either more natural ability than profile would say or the form is over-rated. Can he confirm form NTO? Poss whole race is sub OR70?
