2Most valuable seller of season & often needs OR70+ performance to win although bulk of field usually normal OR45-62 types. Wide margins in finishing distances common. That said, this is a difficult race to sum up. Ignore Anjomarba & you would say the better types pressed on to hard and faded but put enough pressure on the lesser ones to ensure they faded. Final Ovation faded more than you would expect but the 2nd to 6th placers make a believable set. Nothing much to report & nothing to follow unless one of the very green newcomers, say Hidden City, can show more STO. The problem is then what is Anjomarba doing 8L clear? If you assume Orpen Arms is an OR68 filly then a literal response would be Anjomarba is OR90+ & should be having a go in Listed races. She has come up short against OR80s types over 5f in earlier season although seems to have thrived physically recently. At the meeting the centre track strip looked a real advantage & Anjomarba raced up it with 4 moderate ones while the other better types in the race pressed along together on the slower strip stands' side. If you suggest a mixed answer with Anjomarba improving to OR75+ & helped by best going & Orpen Arms fading to OR50s compromised by the stands' side trip & the inter-horse friction then prob a result to believe. The last time the trainer had a filly develop like this she regressed quickly off the 'Peak' effort which this might have been. Check NTO. |
