SUMMARY

2Star Rover won yesterday at Chester. Windy day but time ordinary for going.
SR allowed to cross to rail by Jk on DA and joined by GZ. These two ran alongside for all of the race until SR fade very late on. Suspect that these two went hard and had a long battle that softened them up and caused a slow finish and ordinary time. GZ just outlast SR late on.
DA settle in behind this pair and 1.5L back at halfway. Niggled and a little outpaced as the lead pair pressed on again inside 2F out. As the leading pair stalled inside the final furlong up the final slight incline he was able to go through a gap on the rail to lead late.
HV green and lose ground at start. Then run freely to close up be just over 2L back at halfway. Effort told and faded inside 2F out and eased inside the final furlong.
Ordinary conditions race form and SR seem well below his best. GZ also racing quite hard in leading pair for much f race and can rate higher.
DA quoted at 8/1 for Norfolk Stakes after race but hard to believe he is even the best the stable has. More likely a go in the Listed Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot if he goes and come up short in that.
