SUMMARY

2First race around Bend at Course since a 7 horse pile up around 2 months back. New management have brought in surveyors, soil scientists, etc to undertake remedial work in interim. Bend realigned, soil acidity lessened and other actions taken to improve shape of bend and strength of grass root growth.
Pile up the culmination of a number of incidents on the bend. Go back to 2007 and Ryan Moore slipped and fell off horses in consecutive races including 2yo Redesignation.
Prior to the pile up an earlier NH meeting this year had seen horses slipping on the bend with at least one equine fatality and a jockey breaking a collar bone. One of the jockeys interviewed then exonerated the course and suggested it was just 'One of those things'. Do not trust the opinion of people who expect to fall and be injured on a regular basis.
