SUMMARY

2Track producing quick times at recent meetings and this the fastest 2yo 6f of season by 0.63s. Two next fastest times by fillies who have run in Group races later. Strong pace from early on with ABSec & Rakaan making efforts to progress from wide draws to cross to rail and form a pressing leading pair. ABS settled on rail and Rakaan had to work a little harder to get across and run 1 wide. Ran a little freely in FT blinkers and pulled to lead.
Rakaan had looked a short runner at GDWD & an ideal ride for a Spencer hold-up ride. He has ONE short effort which he can make which is quite striking & makes 2-5L quickly depending upon race shape. But, he fades soon after so it has to be used properly. Spencer used it well enough in Coventry to dance past the faders from the pace war to get to 2nd before fading. LTO he was held up in a slow race and had to use the effort to get to Arabian Pride who had enough left to respond. The early effort here & free running meant that effort was never available in later race & he faded before the last 1F. Oddly, he might be value back in stronger, big field, race with a lot of pace and a severe hold up ride.
ABS bigger than Rakaan & OR90+. Cat Hunter got lost in 2nd group & Jk never ask her to do more than get to 5th in gap behind 1st 4. Check NTO. Less obvious promise but FDelta a lesser version of same story.
The Coventry has not produced better runs aside from the 1st 2 & Rakaan probably a precocious OR88-92 of his sire. OR104 too high.
