Stalls stands' rail. Field race centre. Field closely grouped at halfway within 1.5L of each other. Only minor changes in position later in race with CG fading badly and another poor run by Dascombe 2yo (on day when another was distressed after the race at Chester and racing delayed as it was attended to). SL get past LT but made just over half a length on her and take 1F+ to do it. CG fading with little resistance. SH & PD both run green at times and both unbalanced to some degree as the 2F out efforts made. SH respond a little better initially but then hang and fade in the last 1F. PD look clueless and drop last 2L off group at 1.5F out as she rolled around asked for an effort. Responded in the last fulong to get back to 4th for HnH. A day when two other 2yo Breeze-up purchases won FTO having shown competence and some pace in the Videos of their breezes before the sales. PD's video shows her never being asked to quicken the pace in the final 1F as she ought to so never put under the pressure she was here. Indeterminate breeze and sold poorly in a sale where a range of 6 figure prices were made. ND seemed to lack pace for this 2F sprint and moved more like a galloping lengthener rather than a speed filly. On pedigree she reads more like an 8f+ developer. Which left the two competent little triers in SL & LT to handbag it out to line and putting a little distance on the stayer, the clueless and the fader. |
