Shower in morning but Going description not change. Field race stands' rail. This look strong Maiden on Profile and faster than 5f Handicap run 30 minutes later (60.31s by OR68 carrying 4lbs more). WR set strong pace on rail. Trainer David Brown effusive about the horse afterwards but seems to be that sort of character. Said WR would have won '5-6L if he had not been intimidated at Warwick' which is plain nonsense. WR ran very well at Warwick and had been softened up by the race pace and did well to survive that still clear until caught by a deep closer. To suggest a small filly rolling towards him in the final furlong made 6L+ difference is ludicrous and taking 'rose tinted' into a very deep shading. But, this look a strong performance and the other horses in the first 4 a believable OR75+ set. Hanagan ride Lexi's Princess rather than the Fahey horse who had the stable's App7 on. IDiva ran better than result (BTR) suggested. Lost ground at start and then run freely to get back to group along the rail. Inside the last 2F switched off rail to try to make effort and hampered into the last 1F losing 2L+ on outer of group. Switched back to rail and regathered herself. Responded well late on and closing back to the leading 3 and gaining on them. |
