SUMMARY
Dry period and little natural precipitation. But slow times on night and 20mm of watering done before meeting. If you have a horse that actually wants GF going what can you do witht he amount of watering that goes on. Haydock is getting like Windsor where 'GF' can mean anything because that is what the Clerk of the Course is aiming for so that is what they call it. The watering they do they feel is what is required to bring the ground to the fast side of good. But, the evidence by times suggest they are not able to produce consistent ground by this method but call it GF whatever they have actually produced. Course relaid in recent years and they do not appear to have it's management under control probably through lack of experience.
Pace look solid without being too strenous. First 8 at halfway within 3L of lead and placed horses around 3L back and make progress around horses left behind by winner. 3 horses already adrift by halfway with AL appearing to pack it in and perhaps Fallon was aboard to administer some encouragement (or prepare him for a 4TO nursery blossom). Mediplomat talked up by trainer Botti in April but a moderate effort and why would Fallon not ride that one if he were ready for today and any good?
Rerouted just a medium size and not convincing here. Draw away ok but offering to hang left for the last 2F and head held awkwardly. Not look better class.
