SUMMARY

Rail out 6 yards (more?) for entire 6f distance.
GLad visually impressive for strong finish and pulling away at end of race but suspect form not strong. Probably just over OR90 and GLad close to his peak. Hung left for much of the last 1.5F and kept on in the last 0.5F having got to the rail. Not moving entirely efficiently. May go to the Coventry Stakes but on size, type and this performance would come up short and finish 4th-6th in typical renewal. Seemed to improve markedly at Beverley last time ans clearly that was a set-up punt after a 'Lost' debut and a very tenderly handled STO run when well behind Dads Amigo. His Beverley win has been generally under-rated and this success added to his runner-up (Lady Royale) filling the same position in the Hilary Needler. B2yoR was a little disappointed in the 3rd in that race (Surely This Time) but his inability to do better than 3rd looks better now. The 4th (Ice Trooper) runs the day after this race.
Race not that strong overall and the opposition made GLad look better than he is to some extent. TOS a smaller filly and run to freely and fade and not see the 6f out. Mayhab a low to mid OR70s horse and unable to compete. DA travel comfortably until outpaced on the steep uphill section. A taller, leggy, galloper in this group and that physical type often struggle on the sharp climb up to the turn into the straight. TOS chose this point to increase the pace to make him look worse. DA never able to get back into it and need a different test on this evidence.
CLane never going comfortably with th pace set. Niggled or driven at various point through to halfway then outpaced to 2F by the efforts. Plug on to get back to 2nd as the others stalled and faded but never going well enough to show his best. Presume he is not the best his trainer has anyway and ready and professional on debut with less than average scope to develop. Medium size at best. Might be OR80s handicapper in reality.
MSM another OR80s type on Paddock Review and never get settled in this race. Dopped in early from wide but then taken out wide again as he went a little freely. Held back again after 2F and dropped to rail at 2.5L off lead. Used his effort to get some of that back into the straight but moderate response afterwar and not finish the race off. Below his best here.
Short summary would be that GLad can rate higher for not hanging. But made to look better than he actually is by the quality of the opposition and the fact that none of them really gave a the best showing they could for various reasons.
