Stalls stands' rail of outer course and field race along rail. Just an average pace, at best. Picture - of the finish. GP set pace on rail and joined by SH after 0.5f. GP look a little green overall and wanting to run faster. Held by jockey to some extent, with head held a little up and to the right, for the first 3F. GP travel well enough that he had the others under pressure before he made his effort as late as just before the 1F out point. Responded well but hung a little left and head still held a little awkwardly. Challenged by Forjatt 0.5F out and able to respond but a little unbalanced and headed late. Effectively a 1.5f sprint at the end of a piece of work. Forjatt had been stoked up to start his effort at 1.5F out while GP still slightly held by jockey in the lead. Forjatt take time to respond but start making forward progress on GP & SH to the last 1F. More professional than GP and got a slight jump on him by starting his effort earlier. SH travel ok for a little longer than Forjatt to make the point but comfortably outpaced at 1F out by the two bigger colts. Race billed as penalty kick for Forjatt in morning by pundits with his trainer in form with 2yos, Dettori, etc. Two in field with runs shown little as well. But that left out GP who is an expensive breeze up purchase with Stuart Williams. That trainer not known for 2yos overall but does get debut wins with better types and Nottingham the scene of his most famous 2yo gamble (STO). GP and Forjatt stand out in Review as bigger OR82+ types. GP taller than Forjatt whi is the more compact sprinter type. GP may well be a better horse than Forjatt and able to beat him when he has grown up mentally. Forjatt probably and OR80s type and GP ought to be OR90+. BD smaller than first two but a neat, sprinter type, and OR66-72. Slow start typical of Spencer and then green and unbalanced when asked to get involved in the 1.5f sprint late on. Can improve for growing up. |
